For the second year in a row, FC Helsingør’s U19 team qualified for the semi-finals of the youth cup tournament. By defeating HB Køge at their home ground in Køge, FC Helsingør survived and advanced.

Through regulation time, FCH played well through the first half but didn’t score, while HB Køge took control in the second half. The home team scored first, but FCH’s Nicolas Willumsen reacted quickly to equalise on a good delivery by Tobias Christiansen.

The match ended locked with a goal apiece, sending the match straight into a penalty shoot-out. Mathias “Mac” Christensen, Anosike Ementa and Willam Arnesen converted on their attempts, while Christoffer Monty saved three attempts out of four off HB Koge’s takers.

Mark Thevis’ side advanced beyond the quarterfinals for the second consecutive season, a remarkable undertaking for a 2nd Division club’s U19 side.

The semi-final opponent will be determined when the remaining matches in the quarterfinal round are completed during March.
