FC Helsingør had one team left in the league that they still had not beaten, and that was Viborg FF. Viborg hosted FC Helsingør at home, where they had still not lost this season, so it looked like a difficult task. But with a tremendous fight, team spirit, and three good goals, the visitors from Helsingør took the win.

It was the home side from Viborg that started best. After five minutes of play, Skhirtladze got through to the byline on the left, and played a flat ball across goal. But Kevin Stuhr got down just in time and managed to poke the ball away from an onrushing Viborg player in the middle.

Viborg played a number of crosses and also worked themselves into a couple of corners early in the match, and after 12 minutes Tobias Bech had a shot after cutting in from the right. Bech's effort dipped dangerously toward the far corner, but once again Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard got down and, with some difficulty, managed to claim it.

FC Helsingør managed to push the game a little further up the pitch over the next ten minutes, but even so it was Viborg who got the next big chance after 23 minutes of play. A ball was headed on in the middle and fell somewhat fortunately to Jeppe Grønning, who ran toward goal. He shot just as he entered the box, but Kevin Stuhr blocked the shot, which rebounded back into play, and out on the left a completely free Jakob Bonde unfortunately could not bring the ball under control, sending it behind the byline.

A few minutes later the same Bonde was close from a tight angle in the box, but his fine shot went just over the goal. FC Helsingør were under pressure and had trouble putting moves together in the first half hour, but no one gave an inch, and everyone defended with teeth and claws.

Right as we passed the half-hour mark, the home side had their biggest chance so far, when the ball travelled all the way across the six-yard box from a cross from the left. Just by the far post, Justin Lonwijk was ready to finish, but he sent the ball a meter wide with a controlled instep. Huge chance for Viborg.

The minute after, Davit Skhirtladze beat the offside trap and was through on goal all alone. Kevin Stuhr stayed ice-cold on his feet, and in the one-on-one the FCH goalkeeper was the big winner, as he made his move at exactly the right moment and blocked Skhirtladze's shot. On the follow-up shot from Bonde, Mouritsen was ready on the line to clear.

We had to go all the way to the 39th minute before FC Helsingør got their first chance. Eli Just carried the ball forward on the right and found Liam Jordan with a through ball. Jordan played the ball diagonally across with a long pass, and in front of goal a heavily pressured Carl Lange got on the end of it. However, Lange was marked, and Lucas Lund in the Viborg goal was able to claim it without much fuss.

As the half went on, it seemed neither team would score, but just as the clock reached the 45 minutes, FC Helsingør struck. Nicklas Mouritsen brought down a ball well on the left and sent a good cross into the six-yard box, where Liam Jordan was waiting. Viborg's defense, however, was alert and headed it clear in front of Jordan. But out on the right side of the box Elijah Just stood completely free and was able to bring down the loose ball. Eli took a touch inside and, ahead of a desperate Viborg defender, placed the ball past Lucas Lund with a precise shot at shoulder height. The ball went in at the far post, and FC Helsingør were able to go into the break a few seconds later with a clinical 0-1 lead that was probably not entirely in keeping with play and chances.
0-1 FC Helsingør

The second half started like the first, with heavy Viborg pressure and a heroic FC Helsingør side that had trouble linking passes among the aggressive Viborg players. After five minutes FC Helsingør were given a scare when Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard landed awkwardly after dealing with a cross and lay in treatment for a long time. But the veteran got back on his feet again, despite a sore ankle.

Even so, it was FCH who had the first effort on target in the second half, when Nikolai Geertsen rose highest at a corner after 57 minutes, but although Geertsen headed downwards, the ball was too close to Lucas Lund, who could collect it.

But just after the hour mark FC Helsingør managed to get one on target. Eli Just broke away on the counter and played it centrally to Callum McCowatt. McCowatt tried to finish, but his shot was blocked in the box. The ball ran out to Mouritsen on the left, who also shot from a tight angle. Lund made the save, but only straight to Mouritsen, who then laid the ball across to Liam Jordan on the right side of the box. Jordan dribbled past first one, then two opponents, and then lashed at the ball with his left foot. His shot flew in at the far post, giving Lund no chance in goal. Brilliant goal by Liam Jordan.
0-2 FC Helsingør

After 71 minutes Viborg created yet another huge chance, when Christian Sørensen got a shot away from a good cutback from the byline, but Kevin Stuhr, who put in a tremendous performance overall, saved it with a brilliant foot stop.

The minute after, Jakob Bonde had a long-range effort that Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard had to gather down by the base of the post, and shortly after that Jakob Bonde also had a big headed chance, which went over the goal.

Viborg were clearly frustrated by how the match was unfolding and pushed hard for a goal to reduce the deficit, but FC Helsingør really defended as a team, and time after time promising situations were shut down before they became dangerous. The coaching staff used all their substitutions, and in the closing stages Viborg eventually looked helpless, and it was FC Helsingør's turn to disrupt Viborg's passing game with aggressive pressure on every ball carrier.

And just before we entered stoppage time, substitute Tonni Adamsen could seal it, as he got past his man in the middle and broke away on the counter. Adamsen showed his fine technique, calmly dribbling past his opponent and sending the ball past Lucas Lund with a delicate instep finish that clipped the far post and went in for Adamsen's first-division goal for FC Helsingør

The minute after, Viborg won a free kick just outside the box, but, as symptomatic of the day, Kevin Stuhr saved Christian Sørensen's fine shot, which otherwise was destined for the right place.

That was the end for Viborg, and even with five minutes of added time the home side never really managed to create danger. And so FC Helsingør could record a win against the last team in the league they had not beaten this year.
