On Sunday, the club said goodbye to several prominent figures. Work on next year’s setup has thus begun.
As planned, all the players in FC Helsingør have gone on a well-deserved holiday. This happened after the season’s final match against Næstved BK on Saturday. On Sunday, players and staff hugged goodbye at a closing event in the lounge. Despite the lovely summer weather, the mood was melancholy. As director Bo Bay Hougaard said in his speech: It has been a truly hard time for all of us and I hope we can use today’s event to say a proper goodbye to each other after a difficult time.
In the staff, it was a final farewell to head coach Alvaro Santos, analyst Ricardo Resende, fitness coach Gustav Ibsen, team manager Kasper Christiansen, assistant team manager Torben Fleischer and communications manager Mikkel Madsen. On the players’ side, Frederik Juul is continuing his career at AC Horsens and Stan van Bladeren is dedicating himself to Dutch football. Frederik Helstrup, Kasper Kristensen, Daniel Nourouzi and goalkeeping coach Patrik Abrahamsson have announced that they want to continue their careers elsewhere.
Other players have contracts expiring, but any continued cooperation has not yet been clarified. So it was a goodbye and perhaps see you again. The profiles Jacob Schoop, Alexander Hvid and Kasper Enghardt make up the possible light-blue reunion group. The same applies to physiotherapist Michael Nielsen, whose contract also expires at the end of this season.
Not least considering the challenging season, it is hard to say goodbye. The club owes the profiles a great thank you for their efforts. We wish you all the best going forward.
In management, we are working on next year’s organization, including the overall consolidation of the club’s ownership and finances. Announcements will come at the pace that is at all possible, taking the ongoing process into account.
