As the very final step leading up to the spring season opener against HB Køge on Friday, the team today went to Frederiksberg to play a training match against the Superliga side from FC Copenhagen.
In Copenhagen, it had been arranged that the FC Helsingør players who had not gotten many minutes in the training matches would get some game time. The playing time was agreed to be 60 minutes divided over 2 halves of respectively 45 and 15 minutes of play.
FC Copenhagen fielded a strong lineup with familiar names such as Roony Bardghji, Peter Ankersen and William Clem. As expected, FC Copenhagen had most of the ball and after 25’ minutes of play with heavy pressure, the home team also managed to take the lead, where the aforementioned Roony Bardghji got the ball from the side and could score into an empty net. It was not long before the Copenhagen side scored again, and after 27 minutes of play on number 10 there was 2-0 to FC Copenhagen.
After the second goal for FCK, there was a little more calm and structure to the match and after a little over 41’ minutes of play, a long ball was sent up to the 17-year-old Donart Bedjeti who, with a couple of clever tricks and a shot feint, sent the ball into the net for a 2-1 reduction and thus FC Helsingør was back in the match.
After a half of 45 minutes, the team now had to go out for a somewhat shorter 2. half, which was only to last 15 minutes. In the 2. half, FC Helsingør's number 19, Sterling Yatéké, makes a comeback. Not much happens in the 15 minutes and the 2. half ends the same way it started, namely 2-1 to FC Copenhagen.
Despite the 2-1 defeat, the team managed to put together a good training match on the pitch, and the squad is now completely ready for the important match against HB Køge on Friday.
