FC Helsingør and Vejle had arranged a friendly match on Friday afternoon so they could keep match sharpness during the international break.

It ended in a comfortable victory for FC Helsingør over the top team from 1. division.

The match started somewhat cautiously from both teams, and FC Helsingør were a little too far from their direct opponents at the start of the half, so Vejle were able to play the ball around the FCH press. But after the first quarter of an hour, the home side got its own pressing game better balanced, and began to take control of the game.

We nevertheless had to wait until the 22th minute before the first big chance came. Vejle's goalkeeper wanted to kick long, but Douglas got up and blocked the shot. The Brazilian rounded the goalkeeper and finished toward the far corner into the empty net, but his shot hit the outside of the post. Big chance for FCH.

Just before the half-hour mark, Adan Mohammad delivered a good cross from the right side, and one of Vejle's defenders got into the back of Nicolas Mortensen, who was pushed down in the box, but the referee's whistle remained silent. It looked like a penalty.

After 32 minutes, Vejle striker Peter Utaka dribbled past a man on the edge of the FCH penalty area and put himself in a position to shoot, but the attempt went past both goalkeeper Kappenberger and the post. Vejle's best opportunity in the first half.

Two minutes later, the home side took the lead. Frederik Bay delivered a good cross from the right side, and Nicolas Mortensen got in front of his man in the box, and with a volleyed shot while lying down he smashed the ball into the net with no chance for Vejle's goalkeeper. Excellent goal by the in-form striker.
1-0 FC Helsingør

Nicolas Mortensen also had the last chance of the half, when just before the break he cut in from the left side and finished toward the far corner, but the ball narrowly missed.

The second half was marked by a number of substitutions, and the intensity dropped a little in the match. For FC Helsingør, Aris, Tobias Christensen, Akharraz, Tontini, Ricki Olsen and Frederik Roepsdorff came on during the first quarter of an hour. And the latter would quickly take a leading role. After 62 minutes, “Robber” went to the corner flag and took the corner with his fine left foot. It was a good idea, because his excellent dead-ball delivery sailed in a perfect arc over both goalkeeper and defence and went in right at the back post, to the great delight of the approx. 100 spectators in attendance.
2-0 FC Helsingør

The goal took a little air out of Vejle, and FC Helsingør moved the ball around nicely without risking too much going forward. But one of those still creating something was Felipe Tontini, who had several good actions, and after 82 minutes he drove forward and struck hard from distance. Vejle's goalkeeper saved the shot, but substitute Daniel Stuckler was ready to follow up and calmly put the ball into the net.
3-0 FC Helsingør

The Vejle players were not happy with the goal, as they believed a penalty had been committed in the Helsingør penalty area in the sequence before, and midfielder Jacob Schoop complained so much that the referee chose to give him two(!) yellow cards for dissent, and he therefore had to watch the rest of the match from the sidelines.

That meant FC Helsingør could quietly let time run out and record a secure 3-0 victory in a match where one was not left with the feeling that the home side had played themselves completely out.
