FC Helsingør has signed the young right back Zico Bailey.

Zico Bailey has most recently been under contract at Swedish Kalmar FF, and before that he was developed by the five-time American champions LA Galaxy, where he played for their academy as well as for the reserve team LA Galaxy II, which plays in the USL, the second-highest level in the USA.

Sports director Matt Barnes has high expectations of Zico:
– We were primarily looking at Zico's abilities on the ball as a right back. He is good on the ball and has the ability to play himself out of pressure, especially against teams that press high up the pitch. He is a machine when it comes to running up and down the touchlines, and provides an extra dimension in attack. He is a modern full back/wing-back who creates overloads with his overlaps, and it is especially that part of his game that we see becoming valuable for us in the way we want to play football.

Zico is a talented young player, and once he has become accustomed to the surroundings and the challenges of professional European football, we expect to see him flourish in the team.

18-year-old Zico Bailey has signed a three-year contract with FCH.
