FC Helsingør Academy continues team cooperation for U12
FC Helsingør Academy continues after the summer break with a U12 team cooperation. This means that the most talented u12 players from our local clubs will once again get the chance to both train and play matches together under the FCH umbrella. This year, the squad of a good 20 men will consist of players from Espergærde IF, Humlebæk BK, Nødebo IF, Frem Hellebæk Fodbold, Hornbæk IF Fodbold, Gilleleje FK and Helsingør IF.
“The first year has been a great success. We have been able to see how the young players have gone from being opponents to working for and with each other on the pitch,” says René Lybek Hansen, Children's & Youth Development Coach. During the first year, he has been very close to the new setup and in close dialogue with the team around the squad. “The selection for the u13 team was both easier and harder this time. Easier because we know the players better, and harder because so many of the boys have grown with the task.”
FC Helsingør now welcomes the 2009 age group into the same setup. That means regular Monday training on FC Helsingør's pitches supplemented by both training matches and matches in the SU league against skilled opponents at SU level, supplemented with TOP-Center training on Fridays. Head coach will be Lauritz Hetman and assistant Anders Huusom.
“We are experiencing that training on and by the new stadium lifts the players. They get very close to the elite environment. At the same time, the team cooperation sharpens the players. They make each other better. It is very positive,” continues the development manager.
Talent development – there is strong demand for young talents
There is strong demand for the best young players, because the focus on talent development has increased. The larger clubs south of FCH are increasingly gathering the best players into elite teams, in some places already from u10. They train together at least 4 times a week excluding matches. FC Helsingør offers the same amount of football in the team cooperation. In the end, it is about players (and parents) being given an attractive training offer already from u12, supplemented with training in their own club. Toward the end of the season, the squad is selected for the upcoming FCH u13.
Bonding trips & sporting challenges against some of Denmark's best Throughout the year, the boys from the team cooperation also go on football trips together. This year an selected team took part in the Gellerup Elite Cup, and a good handful of players were also with u13 in Viborg. The trips help to bond the boys even more.
Close dialogue between cooperation club/coach/player and FCH u12 The individual players can play for both their own club and FC Helsingør. In principle, they can play for their own club one day and FC Helsingør the next – in that order. By Wednesday at the latest, FCH informs the local coaches which players they wish to use. That gives the coach the opportunity to plan the week's final training session based on the players he can have at his disposal for the match.
FCH Academy looks forward to following the new team after the summer break.
