The FC Helsingør squad traveled to Hillerød today to meet the newly promoted NordicBet Liga team in a training match.

In FC Helsingør’s starting lineup, a new face can be seen from the start in goal, Stan van Bladeren, who recently signed a contract with the club.

A strong Hillerød side settles well on the ball from the start, and proves that they can easily keep up in Denmark’s second-best football division. However, the Hillerød players could not find a way through the FC Helsingør defense, which confidently kept the opponent away from dangerous scoring chances.

Hillerød were also good at preventing FC Helsingør from creating big chances to score. The biggest chance of the match fell to our right-back Mikkel Knudsen, who received a long through ball behind the defense from the new man in goal Stan, but Hillerød’s goalkeeper was able to deny Knudsen’s shot on goal.

With 20 minutes left of the match, another new face came onto the pitch, left-back Mathias Brems, who has been brought in from OB. The match ends 0-0 and there are now 2 training matches remaining before the season starts.

Helsingør’s next training match is against Fremad Amager away on Wednesday, 13 July at 12.00.
