FC Helsingør is further increasing the mental focus and adding a new resource coach to the coaching team.
At FC Helsingør, there is an increased focus on the mental side of being a professional footballer and practicing elite sport.
Earlier in the season, the players were joined by Kasper Henriksen as an external mental coach from Mental Motion, and now this project is being supplemented with the appointment of a new internal resource coach, who will be directly involved in the collaboration with FC Helsingør’s coaching staff.
His name is Thomas Max Hansen.
And if the name sounds familiar, it is because Thomas has been part of Danish football for many years.
First as an active player with a past at Randers FC, Viborg FF and FC Midtjylland. Then as head coach in lower-league clubs such as Odder IF and Virum-Sorgenfri.
Thomas has experience in the role of resource coach from a past at Lyngby Boldklub, where he worked for several years with former head coach David Nielsen and later Thomas Nørgaard, where he was very close to the team and acted as assistant coach for a period.
In addition to the world of football, Thomas has also tried his hand in the civilian world, where he has worked with SSP in Ørestaden. His civilian work mainly concerns contact and well-being for young people and groups. An important piece in his upcoming work at FC Helsingør.
Here, he will be part of the coaching staff on a daily basis and function as support, where the players have the opportunity to discuss any problems or other issues, both on and off the pitch, that may stand in the way of their professional career or performances. At the same time, he will contribute with football-related skills both from the touchline and the stands.
Thomas will also work together with Kasper Henriksen from Mental Motion, so that the players always have the best tools and conditions to win football matches.
About the addition of the new forces, head coach Morten Eskesen says –
“It's always positive with extra resources for a coaching staff, and Thomas has some experience from the world of football that also benefits us. He is still new to the team and needs a little time to settle in, but his role will develop more and more over time and even more so the closer he gets to the squad”
Thomas Max Hansen’s valuable mixed experience will now benefit FC Helsingør going forward.
Welcome to Thomas.
