FC Helsingør hosted Vanløse IF on Saturday in this year’s first training match at Helsingør Stadion.

Even though the cold bit hard, FC Helsingør’s boys could run onto the pitch on Saturday to the sound of applause from the fans in attendance at Helsingør Stadion.

And even though the opponents from Vanløse IF normally operate in the country’s 4. tier, they had not planned to simply wait for FC Helsingør to attack. At least not right from the start. They came with an attacking approach and a desire to play football.

However, this proved to be the wrong decision for the visitors, as FC Helsingør’s Nicklas Mouritsen blasted the ball into the net after just 9 minutes, after a long ball from the opposite side dropped down in front of the full-back.

After that, the match was dominated by Helsingør on the attack. However, without it ever becoming truly dangerous.

After half an hour of play, Oliver Drost was played through, but a chip over the goalkeeper also went over the goal and thus still 1-0.

It was only approaching half-time that FC Helsingør became dangerous again through Callum McCowatt, who after a cross from the right flank got an inside-foot touch on the loose ball and could therefore send Helsingør into the break with the score 2-0

HALF-TIME

The second half was far less fast-paced and it seemed as if Vanløse were content with a 2-0 defeat.

And despite a few chances, first for Vanløse’s striker and subsequently for FC Helsingør’s substitute Oliver Kass Kawo, the result of the match remained unchanged.

FC Helsingør therefore win 2-0 and have thus gained a big dose of confidence ahead of the battle for Øresund, which will take place on D. 11/2, when Helsingborg IF visits Helsingør Stadion.
