It was a fine victory for FC Helsingør in the second of three training matches before the Alka Superliga debut in a little under two weeks.

The match had been moved to B1901's training ground because of heavy rain showers during the morning, and the weather gods also left their mark on the events during the match.

The match started a bit untidily from both teams, with a few misplaced passes on the slippery pitch, but after the first six or seven minutes the play became more controlled, and the passes started to find their target better.

As in the match against FC Nordsjælland, the back three was strongly in the spotlight, and two big set-ups for chances for Nykøbing after 10 minutes were well shut down by Søren Henriksen.

The first half hour saw the match swing back and forth, and neither team found the key to open up the opposition. Nykøbing were primarily dangerous on counters, but the offside trap held, and they could not set their attackers decisively free.

After just over 35 minutes, Mads Aaquist broke free in the box but got carried away in the area, and fired the ball over the crossbar. FCH's biggest chance up to that point.

After 41 minutes came the release for FC Helsingør. Top scorer André Riel got free on the edge of the box, took a touch, and curled the ball into the far corner.
1-0 to Helsingør.

At halftime Helsingør changed all 11 men, and the young players and trialists impressed with good, technical play throughout the half. In particular, the former FCN player Adnan Mohammed impressed on the left wing, with deep runs and skillful dribbling. On the other flank the former FCH regular Souheib Dhaflaoui played, and was likewise lively with good runs and attacking actions.

After 69 minutes, the many attacking darting runs paid off when Adan Mohammed broke free in the box and played the ball across to Souheib Dhaflaoui, who put a foot on it and scored easily.
2-0 to FC Helsingør.

The match was not played hard, and after 74 minutes the game’s only booking came, when Nykøbing’s no. 11, Mikkel Dahl, had to stop Adnan Mohammed with a very obvious tug on the shirt.

Five minutes from time Nykøbing won a free kick outside the box, but the otherwise well-placed shot went straight at Helsingør's Aris Vaporakis, who saved easily.

Thus the FC Helsingør players could deservedly raise their arms at the final whistle and take a deserved victory home from Nykøbing.

Head coach Christian Lønstrup was satisfied after the match
– The most positive thing today was the young players. I know what the old ones can do, so it was a chance for the young ones to make their mark. I really liked what I saw in the second half. “Robber” (Fredrik Roepstorff, ed.) and Essam from our own ranks were good, and the trialists did really well. Adnan played a strong match, and the two central players were good too. All in all, a match that gives me a nice problem, because there were many who put themselves forward positively today.
