Bo Bay Hougaard joins as CEO of FC Helsingør A/S with effect from 1 January 2023, and will immediately work for a broader circle of investors through his network.
We feel that we have found exactly the right profile to lift the work off the pitch. Bo Bay Hougaard is a perfect match. Bo himself has roots in Helsingør and played football throughout his youth, and like so many others is crazy about football and remembers all the “ups and downs” there have been in football in Helsingør.
Bo is a certified state-authorized public accountant, and after his trainee years in Copenhagen he was employed at PWC in Helsingør in 1995. In 1999 Bo helped found Aaen & Co. State-authorized public accountants, which today has developed into a large local workplace. Bo was a partner at Aaen and Co. for 15 years, which has given him solid knowledge of North Zealand's business community and many experiences as an entrepreneur and manager in a smaller growing company. In 2014 Bo sold his ownership stake in Aaen & Co and has since held several board and director positions at a very high international level.
“We have simply brought in a ‘player’ from the very top shelf to FCH. We are super proud and naturally have high expectations,” says chairman of the board Finn Moseholm.
The chairman is pleased to have in one and the same person both an understanding of football culture and a documented professional approach to running a business with the aim of positive financial results.
Bo Bay Hougaard is enthusiastic about the club's new vision and sees huge potential for further development of the club. Bo is also financially supporting the club and the other new shareholders and has initially invested kr. 500.000. Bo sees it as an investment that should provide a financial return in the long term, but the primary incentive is that together we must create a stable financial foundation for a strong FC Helsingør.
With the appointment of Bo Bay Hougaard as the new CEO, Janus Kyhl becomes director with responsibility for the sporting and commercial side of the club. With the release from the overall responsibility and the administrative and financial tasks, Janus can unfold his outward-facing competencies with sponsorship sales and negotiation tasks with football agents, etc.
The appointment and organizational change coincide with a satisfactory autumn, where the club winters in top-6 and gives another boost of optimism towards the spring's regular season and playoffs. A well-functioning organization behind the team is extremely important. The board therefore welcomes the addition of Bo’s competencies to the organization, which means that the club stands stronger in the pursuit of our goal of returning to the Superliga and creating a sustainable financial foundation.
