FC Helsingør have signed defender Pascal Gregor, who joins FCH on a free transfer from FC Nordsjælland. Despite being only 23 years old, Pascal Gregor is an experienced player with 124 first-team matches for FCN, including more than 100 in the Alka Superliga, as well as two Champions League qualification matches. In addition, he has played 13 U21 international matches.
Director Janus Kyhl has worked hard on the transfer, and is a happy man:
– We are talking about an insanely talented player who, despite his very young age, brings huge experience. He has a lot of Superliga matches, has played U21, and was with the Olympic national team in Brazil last year. He has fantastic timing and is technically at a very high level, and 24 hours ago I did not think this transfer would be possible. It is a unique signing for a club of our size, and I know there has been very great interest in Pascal. But he has bought into the project up here, with many young players with big ambitions and a good training environment, and we are happy and grateful for that. I also expect that he will become a huge profile for us, and become an important piece in our overriding goal for the spring, where we need to play our way to another season in the Superliga.
Head coach Christian Lønstrup is delighted with his new player:
– Gregor is one of the biggest defensive talents in Denmark, and comes with a good CV and a solid education from FCN. As I see him, he is a very complete player: He can play all four positions in a back line, he is good physically and in the air, he is aggressive and physically strong, and has a good overview. He is a player from a higher shelf than we are used to, and he is going to be a huge help in staying in the Superliga, and it is also a signal that we as a club have moved up to a higher shelf than we have been used to.
Pascal Gregor has been given a two-year contract.
