Following the great and relieving victory over SønderjyskE, it is time for our second home match in the Alka Superliga. In the first home match against OB, Helsingør were well in it, especially in the second half, but nevertheless fought in vain against an OB side that had the advantage of an early lead.
On Sunday, the title contenders from Heden come to visit, and it will be no small task to keep track of their many attacking profiles, such as Paul Onuachu, Jacob Poulsen and Jonas Borring. FCM played European football on Thursday, when they fought their way through in the EL qualification with a 3-2 victory over Polish Arka Gdynia, and thus have won their last three matches in a row, but one could hope that Thursday's intense match has cost Midtjylland a good deal of energy.
On their side, FC Helsingør have shown that they can compete evenly with the Superliga teams, and the victory in Southern Jutland gives belief in more from the coaching staff's chosen players, and the hope is also that the strong support from all of Helsingør can give the players a few extra percentages.
Head coach Christian Lønstrup has selected 20 players for his squad for Sunday's match, of whom two will be left out before kick-off:
Mikkel Bruhn
Aris Vaporakis
Søren Henriksen
Andreas Holm
Morten Hegaard
Mathias ”Malte” Johannsen
Martin Fisch
Fredrik Bay
Johannes Ritter
Christian ”TK” Køhler
Mikkel Basse
Ricki Olsen
Tobias ”Toby” Christensen
Mads Aaquist
Adnan Mohammad
Mark Leth Pedersen
Anders Holst
André Riel
Nicolas Mortensen
Pierre Larsen
Jonas Henriksen and Daniel Jørgensen are well on their way back from their injuries, and both are back in the squad from this week, but have not been selected for this match. New signing Daniel Stückler is not yet considered to be fully fit for SL football. On the other hand, Pierre Larsen and Johannes Ritter return to the match squad.
