After four minutes of play, FCH had its first big chance. Nikolaj Hansen played a long ball forward to Lucas Haren, who controlled the ball in stride. From a tight angle, Haren tried to deceive goalkeeper Emil Kobberup in the Jammerbugt goal, but Kobberup just got back in time and tipped the ball over the crossbar.

Otherwise, the first quarter-hour was marked by many close duels in the middle of the pitch. Jammersbugt sat deep and mostly played on the counter, which were most often neatly shut down by FCH's defense. After fifteen minutes, Jammerbugt had their first chance, when one of their attacking players was brought down just outside the box. The resulting free kick was struck really well, but Kevin Stuhr was alert and punched the ball up into the air, before collecting it afterward.

After 21 minutes, Eli Just got on the ball in a good one-two combination and drove past two men into the box. Eli struck at it, but his effort was blocked, and the goalkeeper Kobberup was able to gather the resulting corner. Fine action from Eli.

Shortly after, Luca Haren found Teddy Bergqvist centrally on the pitch. Teddy turned with the ball and drove toward the box. But well covered, he had to shoot a little too early, and his shot lacked enough power to beat Jammerbugt's goalkeeper.

Jammerbugt set up deeper and deeper as the half went on, and handed much of the possession to FC Helsingør, who moved the ball around nicely in the lines but struggled to break down Jammerbugt's solid defensive wall.

In the 43th minute, Daniel Norouzi received a good ball centrally. He drove through the middle and into the box, where a Jammerbugt player went in hard on FCH's little midfield terrier. Norouzi went down, and it looked like a penalty, but the referee's whistle remained silent.

Apart from a few close battles, nothing more happened, and FC Helsingør could go into halftime with an edge in both play and chances, but without goals on the scoreboard.

FC Helsingør started the second half best. Eli Just had a couple of fine actions, and on a few occasions was close to finding both Jeppe Kjær and Lucas Haren in the box, but Jammerbugt stood very solid between the lines, just as in the first half. Haren did not continue for long, as after 51 minutes he had to be substituted for Oliver Kjærgaard.

After 58 minutes, it became seriously dangerous from FCH for the first time. Norouzi played a good ball to Eli, who found Jeppe Kjær in the box with a short pass. Jeppe Kjær cut inside, but tightly marked, he could only get off a half-hit shot. Eli arrived to goalkeeper Kobberup and managed to flick the ball into the net, but the referee blew for a foul, as Eli went just a bit too hard on the goalkeeper. Good build-up play from FCH.

Jammerbugt were allowed to commit many small fouls on the ball carrier, which disrupted FC Helsingør's rhythm a little, but FCH still had the majority of possession. We had to go all the way to the 66th minute before Jammerbugt had their first chance of the half. A couple of corners at FCH's end produced a few half-dangerous situations, which the Helsingør players eventually managed to clear.

Two minutes later, Oliver Kjærgaard won the ball twice on the right flank and found Norouzi centrally. Norouzi laid the ball off to Kjær at the edge of the box, and Kjær shot from a tight angle. His shot was blocked, however, and FCH had to settle for a corner that came to nothing.

Chris Cortez was brought on after 68 minutes for Teddy Bergqvist, who was having clear problems with his foot. Five minutes later, he helped turn what was otherwise an harmless ball for Jammerbugt into a corner that came close to causing Jammerbugt problems at the far post, but in the end the defense cleared the danger.

Approaching the 80th minute, Jammerbugt got a better grip on the game in midfield and played their way to a couple of corners and a single long-range effort, though it did not trouble FCH.

In the 80th minute, Jeppe Kjær won a free kick a few meters outside the box after two Jammerbugt players jointly brought him down. Oliver Kjærgaard took the free kick, but sent the ball half a meter over the crossbar.

Jammerbugt tried to apply a somewhat higher press towards the end of the match, which was close to giving FC Helsingør some good counterattacking opportunities. Jeppe Kjær broke through after 86 minutes following a good ball recovery in central areas. He drove through the middle and found Frederik Christensen, who was out on the right side. But the Jammerbugt defense was immediately on Frederik, and the Helsingør players could not get a shot away.

As the match entered stoppage time, nerves really kicked in for the FC Helsingør players, and Jammerbugt could smell blood. Kevin Stuhr was forced to pull out a couple of brilliant saves, and Jammerbugt managed a cheeky effort in a scramble in the box, where the ball hit the inside of FCH's far post. All Helsingør hearts skipped a beat, but the ball went out instead of in.

The ball was played up into midfield, and shortly after the referee blew for full time, and the most important draw in three seasons ended with huge celebrations for the Helsingør players, coaches, and the traveling fans.
