Omid Namazi, who took over the reins after Peter Feher in the final matches of the spring, continues as the permanent solution in the head coach position at FC Helsingør for at least another year. The experienced American coach therefore leads FCH for one more season.

Sports director Matt Barnes is glad that FCH has been able to keep Omid:

– We are delighted that we have succeeded in securing Omid Namazi for the club in the 2019/20 season. Omid is an excellent addition to the FC Helsingør family and the project we are building. We knew that it takes a very special set of tools in a head coach to steer the club into the future, and Omid has it all. He has an excellent CV when it comes to developing young talents, and he has extensive experience in leading and evaluating professional football players and teams.

– Omid has both the energy and the work ethic that a rebuilding project like ours needs, and his passion for the game is infectious. There is no doubt in my mind that Omid and his staff will succeed in building the culture at FC Helsingør while also delivering entertaining football. We are lucky that we have been able to keep someone who is so respected as a coach and as a person. We welcome Omid to the club.

Omid is on holiday with his family right now, but will return to Denmark next week to prepare for the start of the Second Division.

In addition, fellow American Brian O'Donnell will become the new assistant coach in place of Brian Gellert, who has already moved into a new position at the club as chief scout. Brian O'Donnell was, at the club's request, involved in coaching FC Helsingør's first team together with Omid Namazi and Brian Gellert in the final matches of the previous season. The 56-year-old American will also join again next week, this time as a permanent addition to the coaching staff.
