Work on assembling the squad for next season is in full swing. Yesterday we could announce that Oliver Kjærgaard had extended his contract, and today it is the left back Nicklas Mouritsen who has added another year to his contract, which now expires in the summer of 2022.

Sports director Brian Gellert praises the left back’s attitude:
– Nicklas is a type who has tried a bit of everything, but whom we had a really good feeling about. We brought him in at a time when we lacked depth in the fullback positions, and from day one he settled in incredibly quickly. We like to collect these boys, who have that professionalism right into their soul, and who will work extremely hard to achieve something with their football, and it quickly became clear that Nicklas fit that profile perfectly.

– If he continues as he has done so far, we have secured a fantastic footballer in his prime, who can also develop further in our environment. In that connection, I would like to acknowledge Nicklas´ agent, Simon Friis, who was a really good collaborator in getting Nicklas to the club in the first place. Simon could see that we would be a good match. I am very pleased that we can now reward Nicklas after an excellent half-year with a new and improved deal.

Niclas Mouritsen joined during the winter break from Skive IK, and has enjoyed his first half-year at the club
– I feel like I’m in a really good place, and I think this first half-year has been absolutely fantastic. A kind of football is played at FC Helsingør that I like, and where a player type like me can perform. It would be hard to say no to continuing the journey we are on.

– I also think I have developed as a player. I have been at a number of clubs, but from day one here, I feel I have added to my game. But even though I have developed, there are also things I need to develop further next year. For example, goals and assists are something I have wanted to add to my game. I have focused on that, and trained accordingly. So it is a wonderful feeling that it has come here at the end of the season, and I would like to work even more on that next season, both in matches and in training. In general, a lot is expected of me and the others in training, and that pushes one to perform every single day. That suits me very well, and I am pleased that we have agreed to continue next season as well.

In his first half-year at FCH, Nicklas Mouritsen has played 16 matches, scoring one goal and providing four assists.
