Friday evening the stage was set at Right To Dream Park in Farum, where the team faced local rivals Hillerød Fodbold.
A win was necessary to keep alive the hope of survival in the NordicBet Liga.
The match started well for Helsingør, as Frederik Juul after just 8 minutes played Mathias Christensen through behind the Hillerød defence, who then beat the goalkeeper and put Helsingør in front.
As the match went on, Hillerød got more of the ball and equalized after 38 minutes, and the teams could go into the break with the score 1-1.
Hillerød Fodbold made a substitution at halftime by bringing on Solomon Opoku, and it turned out to be a good decision. He put Hillerød in front at 2-1 and shortly after 3-1 with two goals in the space of three minutes.
About ten minutes later, Mathias Christensen managed to pull one back to 3-2 with his second goal of the match, which also proved to be the final score.
0 points home to Helsingør means that the team no longer has a mathematical chance of avoiding relegation, and therefore 2. Division is a reality for next season.
Now the task is to finish the season well and use the summer break wisely ahead of next season.
In victory and defeat – FORZA FC HELSINGØR!
