On Friday evening, FC Helsingør were looking to build on last weekend’s important win against Middelfart.
This time the opposition was the league’s outright top team, Fremad Amager, who had previously in the month visited Helsingør Stadion and left victorious from the season’s first head-to-head encounter. Now it was our turn to try to take points at Sundby Idrætspark.

Our boys got off to a good start and gave the travelling fans reason to believe that there could be points on offer. Unfortunately, the referee pointed to the spot after 20 minutes of play, when Tobias Elmelund, in the referee’s opinion, went too hard into a Fremad Amager player.

Fremad Amager took the chance and moved into the lead.

The team then tried to put more pressure on going forward, and we began to work our way into several opportunities in the final third of the pitch. Unfortunately, the decisive percentages were missing in the finishing. Closest was Oliver Drost, who had to watch his effort hit the underside of the crossbar.
The first half therefore ended 1-0 to Fremad Amager.

The home side came out aggressively after the break, and a few minutes into the second half Nani was on the grass writhing in pain. Play continued, however, and during the next minute Fremad Amager scored to make it 2-0.

Nani limped off the pitch and was replaced by Souheib Dhaflaoui, but we never really managed to find our rhythm again.
Fremad Amager continued to create chances, but fortunately Hjalte Petersen had another strong evening in the Helsingør goal and kept us in the game.
At the other end, however, we lacked the creativity and concentration to find the decisive passes and keep hope alive for points.
With 25 minutes remaining, head coach Pep Alomar tried to change the dynamic by sending Alexander Hvid, Emil Morgan and Sebastian Slettegaard onto the pitch instead of Nikolaj Bagger, Hjalte Lærke and Thomas Basbøll.
Unfortunately, it was not enough to change the course of the match, and although Dimitri Kassekar was brought on instead of Robert Marcus five minutes from time, it had no impact on the final result.
The match ended 2-0, and we had to admit yet another defeat to the league’s top team.

However, we take the experience with us and look forward to finally playing at home again on Friday! This time it will be a special evening, where there will be more than just football on the programme in Helsingør. Keep an eye on our channels for more information.

Once again, a big thank you to all the travelling fans who support the team through thick and thin!
SEE YOU AT THE STADIUM
