Ruben ’Nani’ Molina has been absent from the training pitch for the past few weeks after, in the away match against Fremad Amager on 18 October, he was tackled hard just before FC Helsingør conceded the goal to 2-0 shortly into the 2. half.
It quickly became clear that the situation looked serious, as Nani hobbled off the pitch. The club’s preliminary examinations were not encouraging either, and subsequent scans have now confirmed that the Spanish midfielder is out for the rest of the season. A cruciate ligament injury has been diagnosed, and Nani will soon undergo surgery, after which a long rehabilitation period awaits.
Part of the rehabilitation during the winter break will take place in Spain, after which he will return to Helsingør to continue working with FC Helsingør’s staff.
We are deeply affected on Nani’s behalf and wish him all the best in this difficult time. We are sure that he will come back even stronger next season!
