Morten Mundus completes DBU’s A License as a football coach at FC Helsingør
FC Helsingør is proud to announce that Morten Mundus, an important part of our talented coaching staff, has completed DBU’s A License as a football coach. The license marks a significant step on the road toward the highest coaching education in Denmark and highlights Morten’s dedication to both his personal development and the club’s ambitions.
Since arriving at FC Helsingør in 2017, Morten has been a central part of the coaching staff on several of the talent academy’s youth teams. Two years ago, he became a permanent part of the first-team staff, where, as assistant coach, he is responsible for ensuring a smooth transition for the club’s young talents to senior level. At the same time, he also took on the head coach role for the academy’s U19 team.
“I love being the players’ ambassador and helping ensure that our young talents have the opportunity to reach their full potential,” says Morten Mundus.
Over the years at FC Helsingør, Morten has experienced both ups and downs. After his promotion to the first team, the results have not always lived up to either the club’s or his own ambitions. However, this has given him valuable experience and created the basis for personal development.
“In recent years we have had to learn to handle defeats and adversity. It has naturally been challenging, but at the same time incredibly educational. You learn to take responsibility for your decisions and build a strong belief in the project. I still look forward to coming to work every single day, and that is the most important thing. I am still relatively new in the profession, so for me it is about continuing to develop and learn from the skilled people around me.”
A clear vision for the future
Morten has great ambitions for both himself and the club:
“We have a fantastic club with great people and extremely dedicated fans. The people around FC Helsingør have an enormous heart for the club. For example, during the winter break we saw volunteers spending their free time improving the conditions in the players’ dressing room – that says everything about what kind of club FC Helsingør is. Therefore, my goal is also to help the club back to the level and position that I know we can achieve!”
Skills that match the club’s ambitions
With the A License, Morten is now even better equipped to develop the club’s players both on and off the pitch. His focus on modern football tactics, individual player development and the team’s overall performances makes him a strong resource for FC Helsingør.
Academy director Kenneth Rasmussen says:
“Morten is a fantastic person. He is sympathetic, loyal and extremely hardworking. During his time at FC Helsingør, he has undergone significant professional development and now stands incredibly strong as a coach. We are never finished learning, and Morten’s great work ethic combined with his desire to learn and develop has given him valuable experience. In addition to his contribution on the pitch, he is also an important part of our community at the club.”
Rasmussen adds:
“That is why we are very pleased that Morten has now obtained his A License. It is part of the academy’s strategy and objective not only to educate skilled professional footballers, but also competent and ambitious coaches. We are driven by following the players’ development and supporting them on their journey from youth players to first-team players – and here Morten plays a major role.”
