Today FC Helsingør visited Hvidovre for a top match in 1 Division. FC Helsingør lead the NordicBet Liga and Hvidovre IF are in 3th place with the same number of points as number 2, Lyngby.
Both teams needed to get a feel for each other and it was a cautious start from both sides. In the 12th minute Hvidovre had a header chance, which FC Helsingør goalkeeper Sebastian Mielitz dealt with safely. FC Helsingør then began to take greater control of the match and in the 20th minute, the ball is headed on after a corner. The ball drops to Nicolai Geertsen, who hammers it into the roof of the net for 0-1 to FC Helsingør.
4 minutes later Tonni Adamsen receives the ball in the middle of the pitch. He controls the ball and beats an opponent and sends it on to Callum McCowatt, who plays it to the opposite side where Mikkel Knudsen is just onside. Mikkel Knudsen takes a touch into the box and fires the ball into the far corner with his left foot! 0-2 and only 25 minutes played. More chances fall to FC Helsingør and after half an hour, Mikkel Knudsen wins the ball and sends Eli Just away. Eli Just is free in the box, but with his right foot sends the ball wide of the post and for a goal kick. Nothing more happens in the 1. half and FC Helsingør go into the break with a 0-2 lead.
In the 2. half FC Helsingør start best and after just under an hour, Eli gets a one-on-one after a fine pass from Callum McCowatt. Unfortunately the shot is weak and the goalkeeper can easily save it. Tonni Adamsen, who played a fine match, receives a pass on the right side from Munksgaard 3 minutes later. He takes a quick touch past a Hvidovre defender, but the shot goes over the goal.
In the 65th minute FC Helsingør then go ahead 0-3. Eli Just receives the ball in the middle of Hvidovre's half and with a fine through ball, Tonni Adamsen is played completely free in the box and this time he does not miss. He shoots the ball into the goal with his right foot and 0-3 to FC Helsingør.
Hvidovre are never really dangerous and FC Helsingør close things down well at the back. With 5 minutes left of the match, Oliver Kass Kawo makes his FC Helsingør debut and he does well. In stoppage time Kristoffer Munksgaard makes an excellent turn in the box, after which he is brought down and a clear penalty to FC Helsingør. Kristoffer Munksgaard takes responsibility himself and safely puts the ball into the net for the final score 0-4. Excellent performance and there was a class difference between the two teams today.
The next match is the final one in the regular season and the opponents are Jammerbugt FC. The match will be played at Helsingør Stadium on Friday the 18 of March at 18.30.
