FC Helsingør have sold attacking player Mads Aaquist to FC Nordsjælland with immediate effect.
Director Janus Kyhl smiles with one eye and cries with the other over the transfer:
– It goes without saying that we would have preferred to keep Mads, but we also have to accept that we are a selling club. Mads himself had a wish to move to a bigger setup, and combined with the fact that we have made a good deal with FC Nordsjælland, the overall package for both us and Mads was too good for us to say no.
Mads has been a good player for us, who has undergone rapid development since he came to the club, and we are proud that we can repeatedly develop players who can take the next step. We have sold many players, but we have also replaced many players over time, and I am convinced that we will once again find a replacement for a player we have moved on. Either internally in the squad or externally.
The clubs have agreed to keep the details of the agreement internal.
Mads Aaquist achieved 79 appearances and 11 goals for FC Helsingør.
