When FC Helsingør started training again after the New Year, a new, fresh face was with the squad. 19-year-old Lucas Lodberg has been rewarded for his good performances for the youth teams, has signed a contract, and has been promoted to the senior squad from the turn of the year.
Head coach Peter Feher sees potential in the young man:
– Lucas is an exciting addition to the squad. He has determination and freshness in his game, and is one of those players whose joy of the game shines through when he is on the pitch. He can play most positions in midfield, and has many strings to his bow football-wise.
He is a bit of a “rough diamond”, but now we will see if we can get him polished up a little. Initially, he has been moved up to learn to function at senior level, and to get used to the pace and physicality on a higher tier than he comes from. In the longer term, he can certainly be in contention for playing time on the first team, but initially he is with us to learn, and Lucas will also continue to train with the U19 team when it makes sense for us and him. But clearly a player with some exciting prospects.
Lucas Lodberg comes up through our own ranks, and has initially been given a one-year contract.
