Liam Jordan transfers to Swedish IF Brommapojkarna
South African Liam Jordan has signed a contract with IF Brommapojkarna, who were promoted to Allsvenskan last season – the top division among our Swedish neighbors.
Liam Jordan came to FC Helsingør after good results at HB Køge a little over two years ago, and since then he has established himself more and more in the team. This season he has been credited with seven goals and one assist, which makes him the team’s top scorer.
These fine results have now earned him a 3-year contract with the Swedish promoted side.
Although he today sadly said goodbye to his teammates and the staff around the team, he also spoke with excitement and joy in his voice as he put words to his new upcoming challenges.
“I just want to tell everyone, that if you keep working hard and stay true to your character, you’ll accomplish whatever hopes and dreams you might have. Always stay positive and enjoy the ride and trust the process! We have an amazing group of guys in the squad and some fantastic fans, so im sure they will reach whatever goal they set in front of themselves.
Lastly, thanks to everyone in and around the club and god bless!”
Jordan has had a major influence on the attacking part of the game at FC Helsingør, and therefore it is also with mixed feelings that the club must now say goodbye to him.
”From a sporting perspective, we are sorry to say goodbye to Liam, who has contributed a great deal to the club. But it has long been clear to us that Liam was on his way further, and with the prospect that he could leave for free on D. 30 June, combined with an economically very good deal, we have chosen to accept IF Brommapojkarna’s offer. We are continuously looking to strengthen the team, and with the sale of Liam this only intensifies further. I would like to thank Liam for his time at the club. We wish him all the best and look forward to following him in Allsvenskan.” – says Sporting Director Janus Kyhl.
Liam Jordan is to take part in preparations for IF Brommapojkarna’s season opener, which will therefore only kick off their season on 1. April against Djurgårdens IF
