FC Helsingør has hired the 45-year-old Kenneth Rasmussen as talent manager. He comes from a position at DBU Elite, and before that he worked at FC Nordsjælland for 13 years, where he served as A+ Coach, T+ Coach and talent manager.
As a player, Kenneth Rasmussen helped win a handful of championships with Brøndby IF, and also played in Helsingborg and in FC Nordsjælland, where after ending his playing career he helped build up FCN’s renowned youth academy.
For Kenneth Rasmussen, FC Helsingør represents a highly exciting project:
– I was contacted by FCH, and I could fairly quickly see through our conversations that there was a very exciting project here, and that we see football in the same way. It is a club that has gone through a major development from 2. division and up to the Superliga, and the goodwill for the project in the town and municipality was very appealing. The goals for youth development that the club has, I see great potential in, and I wanted to be part of that.
To begin with, I need to settle into the environment up here and gain an understanding of the good work that is being done. I need to familiarize myself with the entire talent environment and the interplay with all the feeder clubs, and gain a thorough understanding of the club. After that I can look at where I believe priorities should be set, and help build an even more elite-oriented youth setup, for the benefit of both the club and the local area.
Director Janus Kyhl is of course also very satisfied with the appointment:
– Kenneth is a very strong profile, arriving with a really strong CV. When it became clear that Thomas Slosarich would not take up the role as talent manager after all, due to family reasons, Kenneth was very quickly the top name on the list. He comes with great experience from one of Scandinavia’s strongest youth academies, and has playing experience himself from the highest level in Denmark. He is an addition we expect a lot from, and one that can lift the major work already being carried out in the talent department to an even higher level.
