FC Helsingør have signed the club's former captain Kasper Enghardt, who is returning to Helsingør on a free transfer from Lyngby BK.

Kasper Enghardt made his breakthrough at FCH in the years between 2011 and 2016, where he played 140 matches for the club, all the way back when it was called Elite 3000. In the summer of 2016, he was sold to Randers FC, where he quickly established himself as a Superliga profile. After three seasons, Enghardt returned home to Zealand in 2019, where he most recently played for Lyngby BK.

Sports director Brian Gellert is delighted to welcome Enghardt back to the club:
– We have always hoped that Kasper could return one day. And now that his contract had expired, we would do everything we could to make it happen. It is a huge day for the club that one of our greatest profiles ever has chosen to return to FC Helsingør. It is a tremendous credit to the whole project and the sporting department's reputation that we have succeeded in attracting a Kasper Enghardt in the prime of his football career. That has also been possible because our board supports the work we do in the sporting department and backs us all the way. We are very proud and happy that Kasper has chosen us, in strong competition with other clubs. It is huge for both the club and the city.

Kasper Enghardt is happy to be back and puts into words what drew him back to the club:
– It was very much because of the project, the style of play at the club, and the good pitch they have up here. I am a ball-playing centre-back who likes to join in the play, so it suits me well. And then it also counted a lot that I could feel that FC Helsingør wanted me very much, and have shown interest on several occasions, while at the same time I somewhere have always thought that I would return at some point. I come back with quite a few more years of experience and five years in the Superliga behind me. I am the same type of footballer as when I left, apart from perhaps being a bit wiser, and I look forward to giving back to the young guys at the club.
