During the otherwise peaceful match against AGF, there was a single unfortunate incident when one of FC Helsingør’s stewards was physically assaulted as the stewards’ team intervened against the lighting of Roman candles in the home section.

The stewards and FCH’s security team have since evaluated the match and reviewed material from the internal video surveillance.

This has now resulted in a single fan being banned from the stadium for at least one season, and more bans may follow if additional troublemakers can be identified.

– We are generally very happy with our fans, including those who create atmosphere, but it goes without saying that we will not accept anyone preventing the stewards from carrying out their work, and we will also in future issue bans without hesitation to people who try to place obstacles in the way of our security staff. In addition, lighting Roman candles can have quite major financial consequences for the club, so we would like to encourage people to consider how much it is in the club’s interest to smuggle such things in, says director Janus Kyhl.

– We hope that this sends a signal that we will not accept that kind of thing at the stadium in future. But at the same time I will say that we are generally very happy with the support we have throughout the city, and remind people that this is an isolated case. It should be safe and secure to go to football in Helsingør, and we actually think it is, and we look forward to seeing a lot of people in the stands for the match against Brøndby.
