In a season where there were sometimes far between the good stories in the FCH camp, Jonas Henriksen was one of the bright spots. The defender played almost every match and maintained a high level throughout the season. The good performances have now been rewarded with a one-year contract extension, so FC Helsingør will also enjoy the services of the defensive stalwart next season.
Jonas Henriksen himself is looking ahead to next season:
– I’m happy that we were able to make things work. It was no fun getting relegated, and we players also had a big responsibility for the relegation. So it feels right to help get the club back on track after the setback. We need to learn from this and come back stronger, and I’m completely sure we can do that, so we can get back to first division right away.
Head scout Brian Gellert is happy to have the defender available for another season:
– We are delighted that we have succeeded in keeping Jonas. He is a player who has by now tried a bit of everything, and someone the young players can look up to. Last season he was almost a regular starter, and was one of those we could always count on in matches. He will be important for our team in the second division.
28-year-old Henriksen has played a total of 38 first-team matches for FCH since he arrived from AB in the summer of ’17.
