Sports director Janus Kyhl is leaving FC Helsingør at the end of March. This follows the restructuring the club is undergoing as part of adapting to a new economic reality.

“Back in August, I was persuaded to step in and lend a hand in connection with the new ownership, and it has been a great satisfaction to see the club’s ownership come into local hands. The transition to a new reality is now well underway, but we also have to acknowledge that the club is facing some financial constraints. I have had some good conversations with Bo Bay Hougaard, and it is clear that in its current situation the club cannot afford to have a full-time sports director, so it also makes good sense that my time at the club ends here.

It has been a pleasure to be back at FC Helsingør and work with the many dedicated people in the club. I have full confidence that they will continue the work we have initiated with a strong focus on creating local roots and a close bond between the academy and the first team. I look forward to visiting Helsingør Stadion in the future and cheering on the team,” says Janus Kyhl.

“Janus and I discussed some time ago that there is no budget for a full-time sports director at FC Helsingør. Since I joined, Janus has worked with absolutely fantastic dedication and loyalty. I am very grateful for the introduction Janus has given me to the work, and I look forward to continuing the work and development in the sporting area as well. A huge thank you to Janus from me,” says Bo Bay Hougaard.
