Denmark's U18 national team is gathered in Morocco this week to test themselves against the hosts over two matches. The first match is played today, and the second test match takes place on 14 October.

Included in the team this time is FC Helsingør's 17-year-old Hjalte Lærke, who since being promoted to the club's first team ahead of this season has made an impressive impression – despite his young age. The fine performances have now led to the midfielder's first national team call-up, and the pride is unmistakable as Hjalte will soon pull on the red and white colors.

"It was of course a bit of a shock when I first saw my name in the national team call-up. I was really proud, and it's a great feeling to see your hard work pay off. It will also be special to wear the national kit. You suddenly play for something bigger when you represent your country, so I'm really looking forward to it!"

We are incredibly proud on Hjalte's behalf and look forward to following him in the national team setup as well.
Hjalte Lærke returns to Helsingør next week, where he and the rest of the team face top side Fremad Amager away.
