The show pitch in Hillerød has still not been made ready for the spring season, so FC Helsingør is offering a helping hand in connection with their match arrangements.
Although the competition is tough on the pitch and both FC Helsingør and Hillerød Fodbold are currently fighting for the same 6 top positions in the NordicBet Liga, the partnership is top class off the chalk lines.
The collaboration started with a bang of a football celebration at Helsingør Stadion, when Hillerød, as the home team, faced Hobro IK in their postponed Nordic Bet Liga match.
Afterwards, FC Helsingør played the annual match for the Øresund Cup against Helsingborgs IF from Sweden's second-best division.
Hillerød delivered a fine comeback and ended with a draw, while FC Helsingør unfortunately had to see themselves defeated in the dying minutes of the match and therefore had to hand over the cup to our Swedish neighbors after a year in Danish hands.
The collaboration continued when Hillerød Fodbold again used Helsingør Stadion as their home ground, when they played for important points against Hvidovre IF on Saturday D. 25/2. Hillerød took care of the entertainment on the pitch, while we handled the sales at the stalls.
Our boys also had to make a trip to Nykøbing FC, where the league's bottom team was waiting. Unfortunately, this match ended in defeat, which really opened up the excitement in the table.
Now the collaboration culminates with the head-to-head match on Friday D. 3/3, where Hillerød will come to visit and the battle will likely be about the important top-6 positions, which provide access to the promotion playoffs, where both teams will fight tooth and nail.
But the collaboration off the pitch will always continue!
Hillerød Fodbold and FC Helsingør are both clubs built on local roots and a strong sense of cohesion. That is why a collaboration is the obvious choice. Both in terms of our values, but also in order to offer our respective fans and partners the best possible experience despite the challenges.
This of course also means that Hillerød Fodbold are welcome at Helsingør Stadion later in the season, if their challenges with the pitch and facilities should continue.
