FC Helsingør played their final home match of the year on Friday evening and with a victory could really put distance between themselves and the lower half of the table.

The North Jutland visitors from Vendsyssel FF quickly took control of possession, but neither side managed to work their way to any truly big chances.

It was only shortly before halftime that the ball came close to ending up in the net.
After a bit of scramble in the box, it fell to FC Helsingør’s Alexander Lyng, who shot straight at Vendsyssel keeper Marcus Bundgaard, who made a fine save for a corner.
The visitors also wanted to join in, and shortly after they were close to taking the lead after a fine header attempt, but the crossbar was in the way.

Thus the halftime score was 0-0.

The home side were close to changing that after 55 minutes, when Nicolai Geertsen rose highest from a corner and headed it toward goal. The Vendsyssel defense, however, managed to clear it.
Play then went back and forth, and the big chances continued to fail to materialize.

After 77 minutes Vendsyssel were close again, as Parfait Bizoza received the ball on the edge of the box and fired just over the crossbar.
Vendsyssel continued to look dangerous, and shortly before the end they were close to stealing the win when Tobias Anker got to a dangerous free kick first and sent a header just past the goal.

Neither side managed to get on the scoresheet, and it ended as it began – 0-0.

Now two away matches await, first Hvidovre on Saturday and later Fredericia, before the team can go into the winter break – hopefully still in the Top-6.
