FC Helsingør is pleased to welcome Frederik Karlsen back to the club!
The 20-year-old winger returns home after a season in Hillerød, where, despite the lack of playing time, he has continued his positive development. Frederik is still a young player who, in addition to a past with FC Helsingør, also spent time at the academy at FC Nordsjælland earlier in his career. With his contract expiring in Hillerød, it was therefore not a difficult decision to offer him the chance to return home to Helsingør.
Frederik is a well-liked player who has previously played an important role for our team with his pace, technical skills, and ability to create chances from the wing. His relationship with and knowledge of the club and the city also make this homecoming extra special.
“I’m incredibly happy to be back at FC Helsingør. We have found a good solution and I am happy about the trust the club has shown me. The club has always had a special place in my heart, and I look forward to contributing to the team and our shared goals,” says Frederik Karlsen about his return.
Head coach Marc Velasco is also looking forward to having Frederik back in the squad:
“Frederik is a player with a strong mindset and lots of experience despite his age. He knows the club’s values and his work rate on the pitch will undoubtedly help us going forward.”

The 20-year-old winger returns after a season with Hillerød, where, despite limited playing time, he continued his positive development. Frederik remains a young talent who, in addition to his previous time at FC Helsingør, also spent part of his career at the FC Nordsjælland academy. With his contract at Hillerød coming to an end, it was an easy decision to offer him the chance to return to Helsingør.
