This weekend we once again made FCH history – as FCH Talent held its first FCH Talent Tournament 2017 – a tournament where all our parent and partner clubs were invited, as well as “friends of the house”.
The tournament was held at FC Helsingør’s future Superliga stadium in very cozy surroundings on Nordre Strandvej, where, for the occasion, the grill had been fired up and both the kiosk and the popcorn stand were open.
In this first year, the following clubs participated: Snekkersten IF, Hornbæk IF, Frem Hellebæk IF, Espergærde IF, Kvistgård IF, Gilleleje FK, Nødebo IF and Hillerød Alliancen (a combined team from KBK Hillerød and FIF Hillerød).
We played matches in the “new” age groups, which were U10 – 2008, U11 – 2007 and U12 – 2006, and with several clubs we had agreed that it was okay to field a mixed team, so that we could get the best matches, as it was important to us at FCH that the individual teams were matched equally, and everyone got playing time – which to a great extent seemed to succeed; we saw many fine football matches and skilled football players.
The tournament is important as a supplement to the selection of the upcoming FCH Talents, who are to take part in our weekly specific training sessions – which are currently held on Mondays. Here we work closely and in dialogue with our parent and partner clubs about which players have both talent and, to a great extent, also the will and dedication to come in with other talents and receive training from FCH’s talent coaches from the various U-teams.
This initiative is an important step for FCH in relation to the selection of the club’s upcoming U13 team – so it is wonderful to have the support for this from our parent and partner clubs – who have already responded positively, and we will definitely create a similar initiative next year and in the years to come.
