Following last weekend’s defeat, FC Helsingør got back firmly on track as B93 were sent home with a resounding 5-0 thrashing.
The match had barely gone five minutes before FCH had their first shot. Frederik Bay dribbled past his marker on the right side and clipped a ball in an arc over the B93 defense. The ball found Jonas Henriksen, who struck first time, but he caught it completely wrong and the ball went across the goal. There it found Daniel Norouzi, who shot, but his effort was straight at goalkeeper Conrad Januario.
Two minutes later, it was incredibly close to the assist king Lucas Haren adding a goal to his statistics. He carried the ball into the box himself, surrounded by B93 players, and finished himself. But goalkeeper Januario was in the right place again, coming out to block the shot with a kick save. Big chance for Haren, but well handled by the B93 goalkeeper.
It was clearly FCH who applied the pressure, and after 12 minutes there was no longer any escape. A loose ball in the box fell to Anders Holst, who was back after missing one match through injury. He sent a controlled shot all the way into the far corner, and this time Januario was helpless.
1-0 FC Helsingør
After 17 minutes first Jeppe Kjær, and then Nicolas Mortensen, came close. First Jeppe Kjær toyed with the entire B93 defense until he was suddenly completely alone with Januario, who kept his cool and shut down the shot. In the next sequence of play, a perfect pass landed at Nicolas Mortensen’s feet, and he shot first time, but he didn’t quite get enough power on it, and Januario was able to save by the post.
But three minutes later Jeppe Kjær broke the deadlock. If you can’t get the ball past a keeper, you have to get it over him, the experienced striker seemed to think as he ran away from B93’s two center-backs and cheekily lobbed the ball over a charging Januario. A beautiful goal from Jeppe Kjær, with a sublime blend of pace and technique.
2-0 FC Helsingør
We had to wait until the 28th minute before B93 had their first shot. It was, however, a quality one, as a B93 player after some good build-up suddenly found himself a little isolated five meters outside the FCH box. He sent a sneaky long-range effort toward the right side of goal and forced Christoffer Petersen in the FCH goal into a good save down by the base of the post.
A minute later it was close at the other end, as Lucas Haren got hold of a ball right down by the byline. He sent in a cross, where both Jeppe Kjær and Anders Holst were close to getting a shot away, but none of the FCH players could get to anything dangerous.
But in the 35th minute FCH extended their lead. A hard shot from Nicolas Mortensen was blocked, and the ball took a high arc into the box before landing at Jonas Henriksen, who suddenly stood completely free on the right side of the box. He finished decisively, and although Januario got down to the ball, he could not stop the shot, which went in past the B93 goalkeeper.
3-0 FC Helsingør
The rest of the first half saw FC Helsingør still controlling most of the play and moving the ball around nicely between themselves. B93 committed a couple of frustration fouls that took a bit of the tempo out of the game, and FCH were perfectly happy to pass it around and go into the break with 3-0 on the scoreboard.
The second half began as the first had ended: With a large advantage in play and chances. Both Lucas Haren, Jeppe Kjær and Nicolas Mortensen came close to decent opportunities within the first ten minutes, but nothing that truly made goalkeeper Januario work. On one occasion, Jeppe Kjær was on his way clear of the defense when he was rather dubiously called offside.
But after 58 minutes FCH added another goal. Jeppe Kjær pulled off two very cheeky stepovers and got past his man. He cut across the box and over the line, and sent a ball backward with his heel. A B93 defender handled the pass, and the referee immediately pointed to the spot for a penalty. A superb move by Jeppe Kjær. Anders Holst stepped up and confidently smashed the penalty into the roof of the net.
4-0 FC Helsingør
In the 70th minute Frederik Bay also got on the scoresheet. Nicolas Mortensen received the ball just outside the box and unleashed a rocket toward goal. Januario saved it, but the rebound went out to Bay, who had joined the attack on the left side. The full-back struck it, and the ball slipped under Januario and into the net.
5-0 FC Helsingør
Then followed a quarter of an hour where FCH passed the ball around in their own ranks and constantly looked for counterattacks. B93 were repelled, and the most notable thing to happen before stoppage time was that U19 player Alexander Holst replaced Nicolas Mortensen up front, and thereby made his FCH debut.
No further goals were scored in the match. And FC Helsingør kept their unbeaten run going at the new home ground, and the 901 loyal singing spectators could head into the weekend with a comfortable 5-0 victory to warm themselves by.
