FC Helsingør continues the preparations ahead of the debut in the Alka Superliga, and today another reinforcement fell into place. Central defender Søren Henriksen moves from Vendsyssel FF to FC Helsingør on a free transfer, and has signed a two-year contract.

The 25-year-old defender has played over 120 matches in the NordicBet League, first for HB Køge and most recently has been a key player at Vendsyssel FF, where he has played for a year and a half.

Head coach Christian Lønstrup is pleased with the addition to the squad.
– He is a dream player we have been looking at for some time. Søren is a fast and physically strong defender, and comes here because he has ambitions to play at the highest level, and is a player who does not need a lot of motivational talks. He has some good key qualities and we are sure that we can develop him further.

It is with a big smile that Søren Henriksen sits down at the contract table in Helsingør.

– Of course, I have had a dream of playing in the Superliga, so when Helsingør got in touch, I was really not in doubt. I am a player who likes to play the ball forward, and FC Helsingør play good football, which I think suits me really well. It is the kind of football I want to play, so I am sure it will be a good match, and I am sure that I am ready to take that step up in my career.
And I am originally from Zealand, and still have an apartment over here, so it is nice to come "home".

Søren Henriksen originally received his football education in FC Nordsjælland's youth academy, and besides central defense can also use his fine skills with the ball at right back.
