This evening FC Fredericia traveled to Helsingør, where the spectators were more than ready for an entertaining match.
However, the FCH team was not quite awake from the start. 2 minutes into the match, FC Fredericia launched a counterattack, with beautiful combination play through the FCH defense, where Kristian Kirkegaard is alone with Kevin Stuhr and places it into the opposite corner of the goal. 0-1 to FC Fredericia. From there the FCH team woke up and kept the ball in their own ranks, and held off FC Fredericia’s counterattacks. 4 minutes before halftime, FCH found their first successful chance, as Mikkel Knudsen receives the ball on the right wing and sends a perfect ball into the back area of the penalty box, where Sebastian Czajkowski can head the ball into the opposite corner. FC Helsingør equalizes to 1-1.
3 minutes later Callum McCowatt plays a layoff to Frederik Juul, who was ready just outside Fredericia’s penalty area, and could shoot first time, which ends up in the lower right corner. FC Helsingør scores to 2-1.
At the start of the second half it is FCH who come out best, as 5 minutes into the half, Elijah Just plays Tonni Adamsen, who can turn and shoot. The ball deflects off a Fredericia player and deceives the goalkeeper. 3-1 to FC Helsingør.
But the goal fest did not stop there. 16 minutes into the second half, Tonni Adamsen plays a fine ball out to Nicklas Mouritsen, who can make use of the free running lane in front of him and finally fires it beautifully into the opposite corner. 4-1 to FC Helsingør.
FC Fredericia did not give up, however; in the final part of the match Fredericia pressed the FCH team in order to respond. The FCH team stood compactly together, which kept Fredericia away from big chances.
The match ends 4-1 to FC Helsingør and secures them first place!
Next match is away against Fremad Amager on 20 November at 12.45.
