FC Helsingør hosted AB this evening in a training match at Helsingør Stadion.
AB got off to the best start and had a couple of dangerous attempts. After just 5 minutes, AB took the lead on a well-worked attack down the right side and a cross to the near post, where Mathias Kisum pokes it in. FC Helsingør then gradually took over more and more of the game. After 18 minutes, the ball ends up somewhat accidentally with Nicklas Mouritsen on the left side and he strikes the ball beautifully into the opposite corner. In the 24th minute it then becomes 2-1 to FC Helsingør, as Nicolaj Hansen heads the ball into the net after a rebound from a corner kick. The 3-1 goal comes after 35 minutes and is a pure gem. Frederik Bay receives the ball outside the box on the right side and with his left foot he sends it into the opposite top corner. After that there are a couple of good chances. Oliver Drost has the biggest one, where he beautifully dribbles past a couple of players in the AB box and strikes low toward the far corner, but unfortunately just wide of the post. So it remains 3-1 at halftime.
The 2th half starts a bit messy and with only a couple of loose chances for both teams. In the 73th minute, AB are awarded a penalty when Philip Rejnhold pushes an AB player in the back inside the box. AB’s Emil Melby confidently reduces it to 3-2. After that it is as if FC Helsingør wake up again and a number of chances are created. A couple of U19 players are brought on and one of them, Khalid Al-Ali, scores a fine header from a cross from the left side in the 83th minute. 4-2 to FC Helsingør. A minute later another U19 player, Bunyamin Topas, breaks through on the same left side and sends a low and hard cross along the ground. In front of goal, Kristoffer Munksgaard arrives and can place an inside-foot finish for the score of 5-2 to FC Helsingør, which also became the final result.
The FC Helsingør squad travels to Turkey on Sunday for a training camp until Thursday the 10. February
Morten Eskesen after the match: We got to try out several tactical things, with 2 different lineups during the match and I think it worked really well. It was a good training match for us, where we again get distributed minutes to many different players, and we avoided injuries, which is also important. So all in all a good training match, where the concentration was high from start to finish.
