It was one of our own who opened the scoring when Lucas Haren scored to 1-0.
Next it was Swedish Teddy Bergqvist, who is on trial with us in the coming week, who got on the scoresheet for 2-0. Bergqvist has played in Malmö FF's youth department and most recently in Kristianstad, and is visiting us to see if it could be a match. In today's game he made a fine advertisement for himself, and the 2-0 goal should not be the last we saw of him.

After the break Teddy Bergqvist added another goal to 4-0, before Lucas Haren also wanted to join in as a double scorer and made it 5-0.
In addition to Teddy Bergqvist, FC Helsingør also has visits from two American players. Luke Hille and Trace Alphin are training with us these weeks. However, both players are two years too young to get a contract in Europe, as they are only 16 years old. Nevertheless, Luke Hille got the last minutes of today's match, and lo and behold he thanked for the experience by scoring the final goal for 6-0.
The two Americans play daily under former US national team coach Dave Sarachan at North Carolina FC. Sarachan and the club know our American sporting director Matt Barnes, and thus the exchange came about.

It was a good match, where we got a lot of playing minutes into the players' legs, and continued some of the good tendencies from the last match. Our main purpose with today's match was primarily to try out a new system, where we played in a 4-2-3-1 formation. It was both partly out of desire and necessity, as Jeppe Kjær was ill, and we had decided to rest both Nicolas Mortensen and Chris Cortez, who have both trained hard recently and have some minor knocks that we did not want to take any chances with. But it worked fine with the new system, and with Haren up front, and as the scorelines reveal, it ended up being a class difference, so we are very satisfied.
Before the squad goes on training camp from 7 February, another training match has been arranged. It is on Tuesday 4 February against Næstved BK, and the match will be played in Næstved. It is at 16.00
