FC Helsingør has ended its cooperation with the two Canadians Kunle Dada-Luke and Kembo Kibato, the Americans Aydan Bowers and Jeremy Rafanello, as well as Emil Erbas.

Director Jim Kirks explains the decision:
– Here during the winter break we have had quite a few meetings in the sporting management about the state of the squad and its future prospects. The four North American players were originally signed to play under our former coach Omid Namazi, who plays a somewhat different kind of football than we as a club want to play going forward. All four have been given an honest chance to show themselves to Morten Eskesen in daily training, and they have all delivered a good and professional effort.

– None of the four have, however, been given any playing time in the autumn, and together with the players and their agents we have agreed that both they and FC Helsingør are better served by them being able to go out and seek the opportunity to play regularly elsewhere, rather than living thousands of kilometers from home without being in contention for regular playing time.

– As for Emil, it is also about playing time. He has ended up a bit squeezed by the fact that we have had 2. Division probably the strongest midfield in the autumn, and despite his many qualities he has not had the opportunity to play regularly, so he has asked us for a termination of the contract, and we will not stand in his way. Emil has been a good team player for the club, and we wish him and the other four all the very best of luck with their careers going forward.

There will still, however, be an American touch at FCH, as Chris Cortez remains part of the first-team squad and will for real get the chance to show his qualities in the spring, once he becomes eligible to play.
