This evening FC Helsingør hosted AC Horsens in a true top clash in the NordicBet Liga. Before the match, FC Helsingør were 6 points ahead of AC Horsens, who are a team with ambitions of returning to the Superliga.

From the start, FC Helsingør took control of the match and especially Eli Just and Callum McCowatt caused problems for the AC Horsens defence. In the 8th minute, it was precisely those two who combined through the AC Horsens defence, and Munksgaard laid the ball off for Callum McCowatt, who struck it into the far corner. 1-0 to FC Helsingør and a superb goal by Callum.

This was followed by a number of chances for both teams. Eli Just tried his luck with a shot from outside the box. AC Horsens broke through on the right side and the cross found a completely free Horsens player inside the six-yard box, but the ball was blasted over the goal. Tonni Adamsen had a fine chance with his right foot and Philip tried a fine long-range effort in stoppage time of the 1th half. We went into the break with the score 1-0 to FC Helsingør.

In the 2th half, AC Horsens chose to push their big centre-back up front. This put FC Helsingør under pressure as AC Horsens came with physicality. It led to a number of corners and crosses, but FC Helsingør cleared them away with plenty of fight and determination in defence. FC Helsingør remained the more dangerous side and, 10 minutes into the 2th half, Nicklas Mouritsen played a fine ball in behind for Tonni Adamsen, who forced the AC Horsens goalkeeper into a full-length save with a good shot. After an hour of play, FC Helsingør became really dangerous as they combined quickly and along the ground. That put Callum McCowatt through on goal in the left side. Callum struck hard and high towards the far corner, but the shot came back off the post. AC Horsens never really became dangerous, but in stoppage time the ball fell to an AC Horsens player outside the box. He shot first time and the ball sped towards the left corner of the goal. But FC Helsingør's newly signed goalkeeper Sebastian Mielitz saved the ball in impressive fashion right down by the base of the post. An excellent save, and shortly afterwards the referee blew for full time.

The final score was 1-0 to FC Helsingør in a fine match, where fight and technical football were part of the ingredients that paved the way for yet another FC Helsingør victory.

FC Helsingør still hold 1th place in the NordicBet Liga with, respectively, 5 points up to Lyngby, 8 points up to Hvidovre and 9 points up to AC Horsens. Hvidovre do, however, have a game in hand.

In the next round, FC Helsingør travel to Hvidovre IF, where another top match in the NordicBet Liga will be played. The match is played on Saturday, 12 March at 12.45.
