It ended in one of the more humiliating defeats, when FC Helsingør were visiting Bispebjerg BK on Wednesday evening in the first round of the Sydbank Cup. Despite an early lead, and a huge advantage in play and chances, it still ended in a 3-2 defeat against the team from Serie 1.

It had otherwise been FCH who started best in the first quarter of an hour. There was a debut for several of the newly arrived players, such as Philip Rejnhold, David Boysen, Andreas Smed and Brandon Onkony. In addition, Tobias Christiansen and Emil Rasmussen from the U19 team started.

Philip Rejnhold played a good match from his position at right-back and produced several good crosses from the start, though they did not create any clear chances in the first few minutes. We had to wait until the 18th minute before FCH got on the scoresheet. David Boysen started in the lineup for FCH for the first time, and he rewarded it with a good match and a great work rate. It was also him, after 18 minutes, who delivered a sharp cross to Teddy Bergqvist, who scored confidently.
0-1 FC Helsingør

Then FCH seemed to be underway, but already the minute after the home side equalized. A cross into the box went over a couple of FCH defenders and landed with a Bispebjerg attacker, who curled the ball past both defenders and goalkeeper and right into the top corner. A fine goal at an unfortunate time.
1-1 Bispebjerg BK

David Boysen and Philip Rejnhold continued their good raids down the flanks, supplemented by Lucas Haren on the right wing. That produced a number of half- and full-chances, but Bispebjerg had some heavy lads in central defense who cleared things up well in the air. Andreas Smed was close after a Boysen cross, but his finish went wide as he had to stretch to the limit, and the ball flew over the goal

Boysen himself was closest to scoring on his debut after 41 minutes, but his header after a good cross from Mathias ”Mac” Christensen was blocked right in front of goal.

Instead, it was the home side who struck again just before the break. A set piece was played into the FCH box, where goalkeeper Christoffer Petersen misjudged it. It dropped down at the feet of a Bispebjerg player, who could shovel it the last bit over the line.
2-1 Bispebjerg BK

The minute after, match referee Anders Poulsen blew for half time, and FCH had to go to the clubhouse with a Bispebjerg lead on the board.

In the second half, FC Helsingør put heavy pressure on the Bispebjerg goal. Andreas Smed was replaced by Valdemar Holze, who had played a good half in the friendly against Brøndby, and he helped keep the pressure high in the home side’s half. But FCH could not score, and instead Bispebjerg extended their lead. It rained heavily during large parts of the first half and through the break, so both ball and pitch were rain-soaked and slippery, which caused problems for several players, including Christoffer Petersen, who could not keep hold of the ball in the 52th minute, and Bispebjerg once again had a man standing in the right place who could guide it into the goal.
3-1 Bispebjerg BK

After that, the match developed into one long siege of the Bispebjerg goal, where FCH time and again sent the ball into Bispebjerg’s box, and time and again the heroically fighting home side cleared it away again.

Tobias Christiansen was very close in the 65th minute, when he drove forward from left-back and into the pitch in front of the box with the ball. There he let fly, and the ball arced beautifully toward goal, but unfortunately for Christiansen and FCH his excellent shot hit the crossbar.

Four minutes later Teddy Bergqvist scored again, when Lucas Haren first finished just wide of the goal, and shortly after put in a sharp cross to Teddy, who scored confidently with a high shot into the goal.
3-2 FC Helsingør

FCH pressed and pressed, but Bispebjerg battled, fought and tackled, and the Helsingør side could not break down their defense. However, they came very close on several occasions, with good efforts first from Valdemar Holze, and later Lucas Haren, who again sent the ball just wide with a hard, low shot.

Closest of all came Teddy Bergqvist, though, when he first got free on the left side of the box, but had to watch his shot blocked by Bispebjerg’s goalkeeper, and the minute after he rose highest on a corner, but again had to see the goalkeeper pull off a magnificent save.

In the end it was all in for FCH, who on several occasions brought goalkeeper Christoffer Petersen up for corners, which FCH had a number of towards the end of the match.

But it did not go in, and after five minutes of added time the Bispebjerg players could celebrate when the referee blew for full time, and FC Helsingør had to go to the dressing room knowing they had had a clear edge in both play and chances, but had not been able to put the knife in when it really mattered.
