FC Helsingør establishes A/S
The association behind the football club FC Helsingør is now separating its first team as well as the U17 and U19 teams into a public limited company. FC Helsingør A/S is being established to ensure that FC Helsingør can also in the future compete in an increasingly competitive football market.
“At the general meeting in September 2018 the board received a mandate to put the club on shares. That work is well underway. The goal is to create solid capital for the club, so that we are able to further develop FC Helsingør, as we have so far done as an association,” says chairman of the board Finn Moseholm. Finn Moseholm expects the company FC Helsingør A/S to receive an injected amount of a double-digit million figure, of which the association expects to hold between 30 & 50 % of the shares, while the rest is expected to be sold to external investors.
“We have a group of local investors who have shown great interest in investing in the club, just as we have a foreign investor group that has shown interest in buying up to 51 % of the shares. It is an investor group we have had a good dialogue with for a long time, and which we feel can contribute to continuing the further development of the FC Helsingør we know today. A locally rooted club, with strong ties to the city of Helsingør.
FC Helsingør must be a locally rooted football club, run on a healthy economy, where we place great emphasis on talent development,” says FC Helsingør's chairman.
Whether the foreign investor group will ultimately invest in FC Helsingør is not yet certain, “Now we let the lawyers do their work, and then I am sure we will be much wiser within the coming weeks. In parallel with that work, we are now launching a share issue, where locals will have the opportunity to buy shares in FC Helsingør A/S,” says Finn Moseholm.
FC Helsingør A/S will consist of FC Helsingør's NordicBet League team, as well as the club's U-19 and U-17 teams. The rest of the talent department will continue to be an integrated part of the association FC Helsingør.
