After three goalless halves in the weekend's training match against Fremad Amager, FC Helsingør really got the scoring going when HIK were beaten by a full 6-1 in Thursday evening's training match.

The first five minutes saw the teams feeling each other out a bit, with a slight edge to FC Helsingør. Frederik Bay was back after a minor injury break, and had a couple of good runs down the left flank, including a good cross toward Douglas. But it was Lucas Haren who opened the scoring after eight minutes when Basse found him with a fine through ball. HIK's goalkeeper came out, but Haren engaged in the duel and won the ball right in front of the keeper. He could then round the goalkeeper and put the ball away confidently.

Two minutes later FCH moved the ball forward again, and HIK's defense cleared the ball out of the box after a high ball in. The ball dropped to “TK”, who took the chance with a hard shot from distance. The finish went into the left side of the goal, just out of reach of HIK's keeper.
2-0 FC Helsingør

After 20 minutes FC Helsingør played a fine and patient build-up through the middle. The ball was played in from Bay to Nicolas Mortensen, who laid it off to Haren, who had come in from his right flank. The young attacker pulled the trigger, but his thunderous shot hit the crossbar and bounced back into play.

Four minutes later Nicolas Mortensen won the ball just outside his own box after an HIK counterattack. He played a fine, low ball to Patrick Olsen, who made the long, hard run down to HIK's goal. There he took a dribble while waiting for his teammates to join the attack. The midfield workhorse took the shot from distance, and HIK's goalkeeper could not keep it out. Nicolas Mortensen had followed up, and from a fairly tight angle he calmly put away the rebound.
3-0 FC Helsingør

Just before halftime Holm played a beautiful diagonal pass over half the length of the pitch to Frederik Bay, who dribbled past an opponent and cut into the box, closely pursued by two HIK players. Here the full-back took one more dribble and outfoxed both of his opponents. Then he played a sharp pass across the box, but unfortunately HIK's defense was alert, and FCH could not make use of the fine move.

HIK also had a couple of attempts. On one occasion they managed to beat FCH's offside trap, resulting in a sharp cross, but all the way over at the back post HIK's striker could not reach the ball.

The home side also managed to lob the ball over Anker and into the goal from a cross, but the goal was correctly disallowed for offside.

There were no more big chances in the second half, so FC Helsingør went into the break leading 3-0 after 45 well-played minutes.

At the start of the second half FC Helsingør changed almost the entire team, and only Fraysse and Anker were on the pitch from the first half. That did not stop the Helsingør players' scoring run, and barely five minutes had been played before it was 4-0. After a corner three FCH players came up, and Hans Christian “Kritte” Bonnesen got his head to it. His header was deflected, and the ball flew in behind HIK's goalkeeper.

When a little quarter of an hour had been played, Nicolas Willumsen came close to a big chance after a corner that was initially cleared out of the box. The FCH players were quick to the ball, and it was sent back into the box, where Willumsen got to it and struck first time with force. Unfortunately his shot went straight at the goalkeeper, but it was good opportunistic attacking play.

FCH played the ball around really nicely, and when FCH finally lost the ball, they pressed HIK aggressively so that they could not find any calm to play it around before FC Helsingør regained possession.

After 70 minutes Willumsen got free of his marker on the right side of the box. He played a hard, low pass across the box, and it was only a shoe size away from Lucas Lodberg reaching the ball in front of goal.

Instead, it was HIK who reduced the deficit shortly after, as an HIK player was brought down just inside the edge of the box. The referee promptly awarded a penalty, and HIK's Lucas Christoffersen calmly put it away after sending Anker the wrong way.
4-1 HIK

But FC Helsingør responded promptly, as Carl Lange got away down the left side. He played a fine cross into the box, where Lucas Lodberg this time had timed his run into the box correctly and safely fired the ball in.
5-1 FC Helsingør

A minute later Willumsen drove forward through the middle. HIK's goalkeeper came well out of his area and tackled the ball away from Willumsen. The ball was played across, but there an HIK player lost the ball just outside the box, where Lodberg won it. HIK's goalkeeper had not gotten back into position, and Lodberg shot the ball into an empty net.
6-1 FC Helsingør

No more goals were added, and FC Helsingør could note a very convincing 6-1 win in the final training match before the squad heads to training camp next week.

Head coach Peter Feher was naturally pleased with the fine result, but also saw room for improvement:
– We are not quite aggressive enough in the press at times in the second half, and we sometimes make it a bit too difficult for ourselves in the build-up from the defense in the first. But other than that I think we play a fine match. We bring the young players into the game in the second half, and I think they handle the task well. Right now it is about getting match minutes in the legs for us, and not so much about the physical aspect, so it was a fine match today, with many positive contributions and some good goals.
