In a week where there has been focus on everything other than the action on the pitch, FC Helsingør were finally back in action as the 8th round of the NordicBet Liga kicked off on Friday evening.
It happened at home at Helsingør Stadion against Nykøbing FC, who have yet to win a match this season.
However, that was not evident in the play on the pitch, and the first half therefore became a close affair with big chances for both teams, but where FC Helsingør especially towards the end pressed for a goal. It never came, and the teams therefore went into halftime 0-0.
FC Helsingør started the second half as they ended the first, and the high press was almost rewarded when Oliver Drost was close to scoring the match's first goal already after a couple of minutes.
After 67 minutes, FC Helsingør finally put the ball in the net, when Nicklas Mouritsen, overlapping, could send the ball diagonally back into the box to Oliver Kjærsgaard, who poked it into the far corner for 1-0.
After that, FC Helsingør dominated most of the game and with a little more precision the match could easily have ended 2-0. However, no more goals came, and FC Helsingør therefore won 1-0.
That currently sends the club into third place in the NordicBet Liga, though that could change if Næstved or Sønderjyske win their matches on Sunday.
