FC Helsingør have today signed a two-year contract with the Swedish striker Melvin Frithzell. The 21-year-old centre forward joins from IFK Värnamo, where he this season has scored 10 goals in 24 matches. Melvin Frithzell has trained with FCH in the week leading up to the Lyngby match, and impressed the sporting management, who have rewarded him with a contract.

The striker is looking forward to starting in Helsingør after New Year's.
– FC Helsingør is a good club, with fantastic coaches. It is clearly a higher level than in Suparetteran, and I feel that it is a club where I can develop. It is the best league in Denmark, and that is the level I want to play at. I am a “classic” striker, and I don’t care whether I play alone up front or with a partner. I can also play on the wing, but it is clearly up front that I am best.

Director Janus Kyhl is also pleased with the early arrival:
– Melvin is a real goalscorer, who despite his young age has already scored goals by the bucketload in Värnamo. He is a classic centre forward, who can score goals from all angles, and who is good at making the deep runs in behind the defence. We are very much looking forward to working with him, and he will give us more offensive strings to our bow in the important matches in the spring.
