FC Helsingør has signed a contract with the young Swedish winger William Kvist. William most recently played in the 1. division for AB, but when the academics were relegated to the 2. division in the summer, the attacking player declined to extend his contract.
William Kvist has been an attacking profile for AB, and managed to score 9 goals in his 36 matches for the Gladsaxe club. He was regarded as a major talent in his teenage years, and had trial training stints at, among others, Dortmund and Inter.
The contract runs until the end of the year, where head coach Christian Lønstrup will take a closer look at the young Swede.
– Kvist is a slightly unfulfilled, but interesting talent, whom we are bringing in to take a closer look at for the rest of the autumn. He is an attacking and creative player who can play quickly in tight spaces, thanks to his fine technique. He came on in a difficult reserve match against FCK on Monday, where he did well, so we need to see whether we can, in the longer term, turn him into a player who can make his mark in the first-11 squad.
The 23-year-old Kvist has, in addition to AB, played for Rishøj BK, Örebro, Hässleholm, Landskrona and as a youth player at Helsingborg IF.
