FC Helsingør has signed a contract with the young attacking talent Lucas Haren. The 21-year-old player joins from Hellerup IK, where he has played for the past half year.
Before that, Lucas played as a youth player for KB, HIK and FC Nordsjælland, and as a senior player for HIK and Randers FC. Lucas arrives with Superliga experience, having played a small handful of matches in Randers colors before returning to HIK in the summer in search of more playing time.
Lucas himself arrives at FCH with confidence:
– I found my joy of playing again at HIK after my time at Randers, which was marked by unrest at the club, especially towards the end. I have talked with Janus and FC Helsingør for a while, and I am looking forward to becoming part of the project, and I feel ready for the next challenge in my career. I have played under Peter at HIK, and he is both a nice guy and a very skilled and detail-oriented coach.
My strengths are pace and goal threat. I can play all the attacking positions, but have primarily played on the wing in my senior career. I am looking forward to starting up in Helsingør, and giving it full throttle for FCH.
Director Janus Kyhl is also pleased with the arrival:
– Lucas is a player we have been "flirting with" for a while. He is a young player who has done really well at HIK, and who we have had on the radar before, also before Peter arrived. We are very satisfied that he has chosen our project, and he fits perfectly into our philosophy. He is a player who can give us the increased competition up front that we want, and who can fill several different roles offensively. At the same time, he is a player who knows Peter's way of playing and training, and where they won't need time to get too familiar with each other. We know what we get in Lucas, and that is a young, talented player, from whom we already expect quite a lot in the spring.
Lucas Haren joins on 1 January, and has been given a contract until the summer of '21.
