FC Helsingør signs contract with Frederik Karlsen from Snekkersten
FC Helsingør has chosen to sign a contract with the 18-year-old attacking fullback, Frederik Karlsen, who was brought up in the parent club Snekkersten IF, before moving on to FC Nordsjælland's youth teams.
Unfortunately, an injury stood in the way of the big breakthrough at Nordsjælland's senior team. Now he is back stronger and has been training with FC Helsingør since the start after the winter break. He has also been in action in Helsingør's two training matches against, among others, his former employer.
This has now resulted in a contract, and Frederik will therefore continue with FC Helsingør for the rest of the season.
Frederik himself is also very satisfied with the signing.
“It is wonderful to be back and now the focus is on football. The boys have been fantastic in the dressing room and I feel very welcome. Of course it has been a little ambivalent having to face your old club, but now it is about getting ready for the spring season. You have to adjust to a few things, but we just have to go out and give it everything we've got. And then of course I look forward to showing myself in my first official match and having a lot of good experiences and victories with our fans”
Sports director Janus Kyhl is also happy with the signing and looks forward to seeing Frederik unfold.
“Frederik is an incredibly exciting player, who throughout his youth years has shown his great potential at the highest national level. And of course it is always special when you bring a local lad home! He is a very strong player with really good qualities, which we now hope he can unfold here with us.”
The contract runs until the summer of 2023.
